Giovanni Molano Cruz

Giovanni Molano Cruz is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of the Sorbonne (Paris 1 Panthéon). He holds a M.A. in International Relations from the same University (2001) and a M.A. in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (1998). Previously he studied Sociology at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. His current research focuses on the relationship between the European Union and the Andean Community.
Mr. Molano Cruz has worked as a Research Assistant at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (1993-1995), as Lecturer in History and International Relations at the Universidad Externado de Colombia (1999-2000) and as a Lecturer on the Relationship between Europe and Latino-America at Université de Marne-la-Vallée (2000-2003). He also worked at European Anti-Fraude Office of European Commission (Oct. 2006/Feb. 2007).
He has published several academic articles in journals of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Belgium on topics related to the Development European policy, EU's common commercial policy and the relationship between the EU and Latin-American countries. He has presented various papers in leading conferences in Colombia, Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal and Spain. His research interests include: regional integration, interregional relations, global governance, illicit international political economy, EU external policy and Latin American external relations.
