Emmanuel Fanta

Emmanuel Fanta is a Project Researcher at the Comparative Regional Integration Studies Programme of the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS) in Bruges since 2008. In 2007 he worked in Rwanda for the Great Lakes Centre for Strategic Studies as the Regional Coordinator of the Conflict and Early Alert Report. He is also an affiliate for the African Policy Institute and has collaborated occasionally with other think-tanks. Emmanuel Fanta has lived most of his life in Ethiopia and has extensively traveled in Eastern Africa. He received an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and received an M.Sc. in African Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies. His research interests include: regional integration in Africa, politics of Eastern Africa (especially Ethiopia), African security, foreign policy of African states.
