Dr. Philippe de Lombaerde

Philippe de Lombaerde

Philippe De Lombaerde is Associate Director at the Comparative Regional Integration Studies Programme of the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS) in Bruges since 2008. Previously he worked as Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS since 2002. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Bonn-ZEI since 2007 and at the College of Europe since 2005. Before joining UNU-CRIS, he worked as an Associate Professor of International Economics at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá) (1997-2004), as a Researcher and Lecturer at the University of Antwerp (1985-93 and 1999-2002) and as a Researcher at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) (Bangkok) (1993-94), among other appointments. He has been a Visiting Lecturer at the UN University for Peace (San José), the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá), and the Prague School of Economics. He has been involved in policy research and consultancy projects for the governments of Belgium, Flanders, France, Colombia and Thailand, the UN, ILO, OECD, European Commission and EUROSTAT.

 

Philippe De Lombaerde (Lic. Econ., UGhent; MA in Econometrics, VUB; Drs. Applied Econ., UAntwerp; Ph.D. Econ., PWU) is an economist whose current research interests include: regional economic integration, international trade, monitoring tools and indicators, comparative regionalism, Latin American regionalism, EU external policy, cross-border micro-regions.

 

He is a co-author of Las empresas multinacionales latinoamericanas (Tercer Mundo Editores, Bogotá, 2000) (with A. Franco) and De Benelux: Tijd voor een Wedergeboorte? (Intersentia, Antwerp, 2007) (with: J. Wouters et al.).
