Lelio Iapadre is an Associate Research Fellow at the Comparative Regional Integration Studies Programme of the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS) in Bruges. He is an associate Professor of Economics at the University of L’Aquila and Adjunct  Professor in International Economics at the John Hopkins University, SAIS Bologna Center, Italy. He is a Corresponding member of the Research Centre of International Economics (CIDEI), University of Rome “Sapienza”, where he serves as team leader for the GARNET Network of Excellence. He served as chief economist in the National Institute of Foreign Trade (ICE) and as an advisor to the Italian Minister of Foreign Trade. He also acted as consultant for the National Institute of Statistics in Italy, Eurostat, and the OECD.Lelio Iapadre holds a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Rome “Sapienza” and a PhD in Economic Analysis from the same university. His research interests include: statistical methods for the analysis of international economic integration, trade policies (especially in the service sector), and the specialisation pattern of the Italian economy.
